In the era of ever changing technology and new sophisticated ways in which systems are getting compromised, information security has become a vital need for every business. July Systems have always ensured to protect Information Systems that store, processes or transmits organizational data. In order to provide an organization-wide approach to information security and governance, the company has adopted the international standard, ISO 27001.

As part of the continual maintenance of the certification program, the company has decided to upgrade the certification from the 2005 version of the standard to the 2013 version.

A robust information security program is essential to acquire and maintain the confidence of stakeholders. The ability to compare and showcase July Systems’ security practices in the market requires practices that are described using a well understood and recognized standard. The ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard is the most commonly used standard for information security and forms the basis for Information Security Management System (ISMS) of July Systems.

July Systems has taken steps to determine risks and opportunities which could impact the business goals. Planning has been done by the management to analyze key drivers and trends which can have an impact on the objectives of the organization including customer’s changing needs.

 Importance of Information Security:

To protect information, enterprises need to establish information security policies that are supported by standards, procedures and guidelines. These standards and procedures should be addressed towards people, process and technology. It has been understood that any security program, which is focused only on technology, has always failed to achieve its intended objectives. Hence July Systems’ focus is on a holistic approach to managing information security while addressing business objectives and management’s priorities.

In order to do this, and in order to uphold the commitment to July System’s customers, implementation and maintenance of an information security management system is vital.
