Optimized Captive Portals
We have overhauled our client side framework to greatly reduce the time required for your portals to load. On an average, your portals will now load approximately 43% faster; while the size of the portals themselves have been reduced by 34%.
This translates into a greatly improved onboarding experience for your customers.
Add WLC To Location Hierarchy
You can now import WLCs directly to your ProximityMX Universal Account. You can select the WLCs you want to import from the list of available controllers through the Add Wireless Network option on your location hierarchy.
To see the list of your controllers on the dashboard, you need to configure each WLC to connect to ProximityMX directly.
Import Networks From Two-Factor Authentication Enabled Meraki Accounts
If you are a Meraki wireless network user and have enabled two-factor authentication for your Meraki dashboard account, you can now import your Meraki organization to ProximityMX using the Meraki dashboard API. Refer to The Cisco Meraki Dashboard API Documentation to enable the API and generate an API key for your Meraki account.
However, the increased security from two-factor authentication in Meraki comes at the cost of key functionality reductions in ProximityMX. Importing an organization via API prevents you from fetching floors and floor maps for that organization. Again SSID status information and Activate/Sync options for SSIDs are not available for organizations added via API.
Simplified Portal Creation
We have significantly reduced your learning curve for creating Portals with the new Portal Creation Wizard, which guides you through the entire process step-by-step.
- Portal Information – Name your Portal and assign it to the location(s) where you want it to be displayed.
- Authentication – Select the Authentication type, of your choice, to verify your users. By default, the Authentication module is displayed as a separate page after you click on a button on your Portal homepage. However, you can choose to display it on your homepage itself by checking the option provided.
- Terms & Conditions – Customize the Terms & Conditions (T&C) that you want your visitors to view and accept with the new rich-text editor.
- Data Capture – Set up a form to gather specific information about your visitors. You will be able to configure the Data Capture form only if you select Email or SMS Authentication.
You can also rearrange the ordering of individual modules on your portal by simply dragging and dropping them as needed. You can even adjust the position of the authentication module on your portal homepage if you have chosen to display it there.
Set Limits On How Many SMSs You Send To Each Customer
Daily/weekly/monthly limits can be set for Transactional SMSs (for SMS authentication) and Promotional SMSs (for SMS engagements) individually or simultaneously, across all your SMS Gateways.
For example, you can limit engagement SMSs sent to each customer to 1 per day by setting the daily limit on Promotional SMSs to 1. In addition to this, you can set a weekly (or monthly) limit on Promotional SMSs to 5. This means that if you send 1 Promotional SMS a day to each customer for the first 5 days, you will not be able to send any more SMSs to them for the rest of the week (or month), even though your daily limit has not been utilised. Your Transactional SMSs will not be restricted as you have not set any limits for them.
The dashboard access to this feature is undergoing the final stages of quality assurance. However, you can contact us with your requirements and we will set it up for you.
Simplified Notification SMS Creation With Character & SMS Count Indicators
A character count indicator, located just below the content textbox for notification SMSs in Engagement Rules, simplifies your experience when creating SMS engagements by letting you know upfront the number of characters you have left before your message spills over into another SMS.
The content textbox itself has been enhanced to highlight all Unicode characters that you enter. This is particularly helpful, since the presence of a single Unicode character in an SMS halves the total number of characters that SMS can contain. The character highlighting allows you to identify and replace any Unicode character, that you might have entered unintentionally along with ASCII characters, thereby reducing the total number of SMSs required per engagement.
Improved Access Point Sync
A newly implemented API Server now allows us to sync your APs on a periodic basis. This is in addition to the previous functionality that starts syncing your APs only when you log in to the ProximityMX dashboard.
The sync cycle happens every 5 hours. In case you have an urgent requirement to sync your APs ahead of the 5 hour schedule, do contact us and we will initiate a manual sync that takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
